Job Title: Occupational Therapy Supervisor (Trauma & Joint Arthroplasty Program)
Basic Purpose of the Role:
To oversee, coordinate and develop the Occupational Therapy services within the Trauma and Elective Orthopedic (Arthroplasty Programme) at Mafraq Hospital. This post will provide clinical and professional leadership to a team of qualified members of therapy staff and assistants.
To lead on the development and implementation of relevant clinical protocols and pathways, Evidence Based Practice (EBP) and Clinical Audit, as well as actively participate in the pre and post rehabilitation of patients post joint replacement. The post requires a flexible approach to working and requires the post holder to undertake weekend commitments as required.
Education Requirements
BSc in Occupational Therapy.
Master's in related clinical degree or in Healthcare field or management or administration field
Experience Requirements
NLT 6 years post graduate experience as an occupational therapist in a hospital or rehabilitation setting in a specific subspecialty, of which 2 years in a supervisory / senior post.
UAE National: NLT 3 years relevant experience in an acute care hospital and NLT 1 year manager or supervisory or equivalent experience.
License Requirements
Current National License or member.

Post-QUALIFICATION clinical course/training/experience in areas specific to working with trauma and orthopedics:
Wheelchair & Special Seating Assessment
Total Joint arthroplasty
Home modifications/ adaptations
Conducting pre-assessment clinics
Supervision
Splinting/casting
Presentation/ facilitation skills
Knowledge and application of standardized assessments.
