Job Title: Legal Counsel (Arabic speaking)

The Company

Due to the growth of their business, my client, a well known property investment and development firm, have created a new role of Legal Counsel in support the Legal Director.

The Role

To assist the legal director in the dispute resolutions matters, especially litigations, settlement, Termination, consolidation, drafting and reviewing settlement agreement & other matters.

    Handle a number of litigations, manage the external lawyers through daily communication, gather evidence to formulate defense or to initial lawsuit, evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases, draft the initial statement, submission, conduct legal search for the law, regulations and precedents, prepare a legal brief for the legal director and execute as the latter plans and instructions.
    Advising on dispute resolution including mediations, settlement negotiation, gathering information from all the company’s department.
    Working on rent disputes and attending before the rent committee in Dubai.
    Attending expert meeting in Dubai/Abu Dhabi and answer the expert questions and inquiries about litigation or arbitration.
    Very strong dratfting and writing skills in Arabic and English for legal notices, lease contract, MOU, NDA, POA, AOA, Addendum, settlement agreement etc…
    Prepare weekly, bi-monthly and monthly reports about the litigations, projects legal standing, settlements, notices, etc….
    Helping in building a good relationship with the governmental organizations such as RERA, DLD, DED, Dubai Municipality, ministry of economic, tourist department …
    Managing outsourced lawyers.
    Translate small documents.
    Helping the legal director to mitigate and manage the risk and ensure that the company and its affiliates, subsidiaries and sisters companies are in compliance with the applicable rules and regulations.

The Person

    Bachelor Degree in Law – Master Degree LLM is highly preferred
    3-5 Years PQE
    English & Arabic drafting skills
    Litigation, arbitration and commercial experience.
    Knowledge of the real estate law in Dubai (particularly Interim real estate register law, mortgage law, Escrow account law, termination law, real esate register law, leasing law, strata and owners association law).
    Construction experience is an advantage.

Salary
AED c.35,000
