Shaqra University is pleased to announce the vacancies of an Assistant Professor and Lecturer positions in the following departments: Assistant professor or Lecturer – English Language

Specific Responsibilities:

·         Provide academic leadership by evaluating, developing and implementing changes and initiatives to ensure the learner entitlement is met and the curriculum develops and improves to meet the needs of all learners.

·         Ensure that a high standard of teaching is delivered, with students receiving well-planned, well-taught and relevant lessons, according to college guidelines.

·         Undertake tutorial and student support related duties.

·         Establish and maintain correct academic procedures, including student placement.

·         Maintain teaching and student-related records including course evaluation, student attendance and progress.

·         Organize pre-booked English Examinations (if applicable).

·         Support the business plan process in line with the college strategic plan ensuring all courses continues to be viable and that provision meets changing needs.

·         Lead and embed the college quality assurance policy and procedures for all courses in line with the area quality cycle.

·         Contribute, monitor and achieve challenging targets for the area in relation to recruitment, attendance, retention, achievement, success rates, learner feedback, observations and external verification.

General Responsibilities:

Professor:

·         A Professor will provide leadership and foster excellence in research, teaching, and policy development in the academic discipline within the institution and within the community, professional, commercial, or industrial sectors.

·         A Professor will have attained recognition as an eminent authority in his or her discipline, will have achieved distinction at the national level and may be required to have achieved distinction at the international level.

·         A Professor will make original, innovative, and distinguished contributions to scholarship, researching, and teaching in his or her discipline.

·         He or she will make a commensurate contribution to the work of the institution.

Lecturer:

·         A Lecturer will undertake independent teaching and research in his or her academic field. In research, scholarship, or teaching, a Lecturer will make an independent contribution through professional practice and expertise, and facilitate the activities of other colleagues. A Lecturer will normally contribute to teaching at under graduate, honors, and postgraduate levels, engage in independent research, scholarship, and professional activities appropriate to his or her field.

·         A Lecturer may be required to assist in the academic administration of some of the award programs of the institution.

·         A photocopy of the bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate’s certificate along with the transcripts Picture ID, CV

·         The authentication by the Cultural Mission of the bachelor, Master’s and Doctorate degrees in receiving certificates on any of them at foreign universities
