Alfaisal University is currently seeking to fill the following vacancy for Saudi national fluent in English language: The Research Officer is responsible for providing support for the management of internal research projects and for the daily functioning of the Office of Research in coordination with the Manager for Research Administration.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalency;
• 4 to 5 years of related and relevant experience,
preferably in university environment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Project implementation
2. Research
Contribute to policy briefings and research
papers relevant to developing
Support legal
interventions and assist in drafting amicus briefs;
3. Outreach
Work closely with
the Head of International Advocacy and the Communications Manager to develop
engagement strategy for human rights mechanisms
Participate in relevant conferences,
meetings, fundraising events, etc
4. Administration
Keep, collate and
maintain detailed records of how time is spent.
Contribute
material to any applications or reports for project-specific funding, in
collaboration with the Fundraising Manager.
Person specification:
Essential:
·
Demonstrable knowledge of, and interest in, a
wide range of privacy law and data protection issues.
· Extensive experience in the human rights or
development sectors.
· Understanding of issues related to the
intersection of technology and human rights
·
Exceptional communications and presentation
skills, both written and oral.
· Strong multitasking abilities and ability to
manage multiple deadlines.
·
Enthusiasm for development work and foreign
travel, and willingness to travel frequently, including to
medium-risk/high-risk environments on occasion.
·
Experience of working with and in small teams.
·
Cultural sensitivity and ability to get on with
a wide range of people.
· Experience of writing briefing papers and
reports on complex issues.
·
Experience of organizing events and/or
workshops.
