Job Title: Nursery Classroom Teacher

The Aga Khan Early Learning Centre Dubai (AKELC), located in Oud Metha, provides nursery, preschool and educational programming for children aged 12 months to 4 years and follows the highest international standards of excellence for early childhood education. The Centre is expanding and we are therefore seeking to recruit a Nursery Teacher with significant Early Childhood experience to add to our team in 2014.
As a secular, non-denominational institution, our programmes are offered to members of all communities, reflecting the Aga Khan Development Network’s strong belief in the positive value of pluralism and diversity.
The Centre’s bilingual English/Arabic curriculum is based on international High Scope practices and is aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stages framework (EYFS-UK).
The main duties will include:
Daily planning, preparation and delivery of nursery/preschool programme (5 days/week; 7:30 am to 1:30 pm) and afternoon educational progamming as assigned.
Participation in regular team planning, observations and record keeping of children.
Regular communication with parents regarding class activities and developmental progress of children.
Participation in Centre activities and events as required.
Qualifications:
BEd or BA in Early Childhood Education or related field
Minimum 2 years experience as lead teacher
Excellent proficiency in English
Bi-lingual Arabic/English speaker preferable
